Whether you’re running or spectating, here are some of the best places to enjoy a post parkrun meal in Cape Town.

Parkruns are all the rage in Cape Town. Each Saturday, the various routes scattered all over the city fill up with people. Although this is a pretty epic way to start your weekend, why not top off your morning with a delicious breakfast? Whether you’re participating or just on the hunt for some good recommendations, here are some of our favorite post park run breakfast spots in Cape Town.

Green Point, Green Point Park
For a healthy breakfast option, head to Nü Health Food Café at the Portside Shopping Centre – they do delicious smoothies! If you’re just after a quick coffee and a croissant, Shift Espresso Bar on Main Road is a winner. Otherwise, if you have the time, do yourself a favour and head over to the Oranjezicht City Farm Market near the V&A Waterfront. With a variety of meals on offer, good coffee, fresh juices and a great vibe – this is a must-do for anyone in the area.

Hout Bay, Ambleside School
Meet your fellow parkrunners for a coffee and a chat at La Cuccina Restaurant or stop at Houtbay Coffee for a sweet treat and a caffeine boost on your way home. Alternatively, head to Suikerbossie where you can enjoy one of the best views in the City as well as a delicious breakfast.

Rondebosch, Rondebosch Common
The Common Ground Cafe, situated right opposite the common, is the official post parkrun coffee station. With breakfast specials on offer, it’s definitely worth a visit. If that’s not your thing, head over to the cute cafe at Starke Ayres Garden Centre or grab a seat outside at Starlings on Belvedere road.

Durbanville, Meerendal Estate
When your run is located at a venue this beautiful, it would be a shame to go anywhere else for post-run refreshment. Join your fellow runners at The Crown Restaurant for a delicious breakfast in a gorgeous setting.

Constantia, Constantia Greenbelt
If you’re looking for a gorgeous cafe to sit at and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, Chardonnay Deli on Constantia Main Road is one of the best spots in the area. But if you’re keen to meet up with your fellow runners, La Belle Bistro and Bakery at Alphen Boutique Hotel is where you’ll find them. Alternatively, head to the nearby Constantia Village and grab a table at Melissa’s or Spirit Cafe – you’ll find delicious breakfasts and great coffee at both spots.

Big Bay, Eden on the Bay
Revel in the gorgeous mountain view after your beachside parkrun and head over to Eden Cafe for a hearty breakfast and good coffee. If you’re craving a well-deserved sweet treat, enjoy a waffle at The Big Bay Waffle Co or make a beeline for Cup & Cake – they offer the Instagram famous coffee in an ice-cream cone!
