KwaZulu Natal

Living in KwaZulu Natal

Being located in the northeast of the country, KwaZulu Natal enjoys a long shoreline beside the Indian Ocean and shares borders with three other provinces and the countries of Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. Despite its small size the province packs many of South Africa’s most popular attractions like the Drakensberg mountains, the golden beaches of Durban and of course, uShaka Marine World!
The garden province (as it also known because of its lush and well-watered valleys) is also the birthplace of many historical South African figures, such as Albert Luthuli, the first non-white and the first person from outside Europe and the Americas, to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Given it being a spectacular multi-cultural destination flanked by the warm Indian Ocean and soaring mountain peaks, why wouldn’t one want to make Durban, Pietermaritzburg or even Richards Bay home?
