The destination is the perfect spot for your weekend away, and it’s only 40 minutes away from Durban. The Widenham Beach is a great spot for swimming, surfing and snorkelling. The combination of the lovely beachside homes, clear skies, typical South Coast vegetation, and the sheltered surfing and swimming beach, easily make this one of the best places along the coast to stay.

Located in what could arguably be one of the most appealing parts of KwaZulu-Natal, lying as it does in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains’ rolling green hills, Lidgetton, is becoming one of the best places to rest your head after a hectic week.
The little town has become more than a popular trading post in KwaZulu-Natal, it also boasts something of an artists’ community. The little village manages to promise an immediate sense of getting away from it all while also being right in the middle of the Midlands Meander, which involves a quirky mix of over 150 places at which to eat, drink, sleep, shop and play. If you’re in the mood for a drive out of Durban to Ramsgate South for peaceful weekend away, then we say — go for it!
Ramsgate is a quaint resort village on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal located on the mouth of a river known by the Zulu name Bilanhlolo (meaning “the marvelous boiler”). The bubbles are caused by the strong currents making the river look as if its water is boiling.
Ramsgate is a popular holiday town, much loved by locals as well. This is in part because the fishing is good, and rocks off the shore abound with mussels.
If you make your way to Ramsgate, you can also look forward to attractions and activities on fabulous beaches, the casino and crocodile farm. Also enjoy boat trips, excellent fishing, golf, hiking, horse riding and scuba diving during your escape from the city.
